Congratulations to our fabulous MNJHS Chess Team, led by advisors Kirk Wright and Scott McFarland.  Our Mt. Nebo Chess Tournament was a huge success with all players competing well.  The gold medal went to Adam Coates, silver to Lane Lindstrom, and bronze to Luke Dalley.  Treven Asay, Jason Flinders, and Keller Stinson received ribbons for their outstanding performance.

The Mount Nebo Junior High Chess Club invited everyone to participate in their annual chess tournament which was held each Thursday, throughout November, after school. Everyone that participated played five tournament games, the winners became our new chess club officers and were showered with their share of fame, fortune, and glory.  Club officers will also lead our award winning club to future victories at the district and state chess tournaments held after the holidays.

The new Chess Club presidency is as follows:

Adam Coates - President

Lane Lindstrom - Vice President

Luke Dalley - Secretary

Treven Asay, Jason Flinders, Keller Stinson - Advisors

Mt Nebo will be competing in the District Chess Tournament on February 24th.

Go Panthers!

Congratulations Mrs. Keetch, MNJHS Speech Specialist!

Kjirsten Keetch, speech specialist at Mt. Nebo Junior, said of her recent Nebo Education Grant, “Thank you so much for the receipt of this grant that will be so helpful toward making improvements in the speech and language services we offer our students at Mt. Nebo Junior. With the SKILL program, I'll be implementing the strategies to improve comprehension of all types of reading and spoken narratives for students with language impairments. This will also help in areas such as vocabulary, sentence complexity, and comprehension. For me, this means a lot because language impairment is so complex, and if students don't have a solid foundation for the parts and flow of narratives, it is difficult for them to build on other language skills.  The students will be directly benefited from this generous donation.”

Thank you Nebo Education Foundation!
