Lockers

Lockers

Parents and Students,

We have found that the majority of our students are very excited with having a locker, as the weeks and months go along many of the students do not use them. Most of our classes do not have a physical book that is taken home. They will surely need a pen or pencil and a few notebooks which eliminates the need for a place to put heavy books. We have decided to assign lockers to those students who request one to make it less confusing and less stressful for many students. If you feel your student will want a locker please fill out the following google form. If later on in the year they decide they would like one, we can assign it then. Please allow us a couple of days to assign lockers. It will show up on your students I-Campus page.

Mrs. Connery has been busy this summer in trying to get to know her new home state of Utah a little bit better. She took some of her (adult) children and grandchildren to the temple open house in Saratoga Springs, ran the Freedom 5k run with one of her daughters and granddaughter, discovered and enjoyed  ice cream at the Red Barn, hiked to Hidden Falls and Lisa's Falls in the Cottonwood canyons, became the assistant coach of the Payson High School Color Guard, AND went to the rodeo for Pioneer Day in Spanish Fork with some of her kids and grandson.

During my 25th summer working at Camp Chippewa for boys in Minnesota, I led a 160 mile canoe trip in Canada.  For 12 days, we canoed up river, down rivers, across huge lakes, portaged and shot rapids.  It was a blast.

July: I spent a day at "This is the Place Heritage Park" with my 4th grader learning about native peoples, mountain men and the pioneers.  Panning for gold was the favorite activity of the day.

Mrs. Miller said she usually just mows the lawn and pulls weeds! Although, this summer she went to France and England with her daughter and an Education First tour for a couple of weeks! That sounds fun! She also enjoyed watching fireworks with her husband.

Mr. Rowley (the Big Man) hiked into the Uintah's with his 2 oldest boys and several other family members! They caught tons of fish, possibly a fishing story! Hung out a couple of moose and had a great time! Students you may want to ask just how many fish were caught! By loooking at Mr. Rowley with the backpack he must have hiked! Even though he looks tired he is smiling!

Mr. Mortensen and his wife and daughter went to Pensecola Beach in Florida! We hiked, biked, jet skied, saw all kind of fish and played a lot in the ocean! The white beaches are beautiful! The beach sunsets are incredible!

Guess Who

This will be the first chance for students to get a treat! If you can guess which teacher rides their bike almost daily and walks about as far as possible to their room,  you may win a prize that will be given the first week of school! Send your answer to Mr. Mortensen, Blake.mortensen [at] nebo.edu . You can guess only once!

Here is a picture of them on their bike!

Clay

Mr. Craig said "I threw a lot of clay this summer!" Knowing that he loves to make clay pots I knew what he meant! I did think the design of the plate was his shirt at first look! I am very impressed with the color of the plate!
