On Monday morning, we had an assembly presented by Fight the New Drug. This group's mission is to raise the awareness on the harmful effects of pornography. Our students received an engaging presentation on the harmful effects of pornography. The presentation focused on the science behind addiction, how pornography is an addiction, how the industry targets youth, and the effect of pornography on relationships, as well as provided solutions and resources for those in need of help. Several of our students had an opportunity to come on stage and participate by answering questions and signing the Fighter Pledge.

Today all students at MNJHS were able to participate in a Veterans day celebration. Mrs. Isakson started the morning with the Pledge of Allegiance over the intercom. Students were then directed into the hallways while two of our 9th grade students, Zane Jolley and Seth Christensen, as well as Mrs. K. Brady played "Taps" in the hall as all of our students lined the hallways. This was followed by a video that highlighted Veterans from our community. Students can also see Mt. Nebo faculty members and relatives of faculty members who have served in the military in a display case in the front hallway.

Thank you to our wonderful Social Studies Department: Mrs. Stoneman, Mr. Rees, Ms. N. Brady and Mr. Ford for putting together a great assembly that helps our students understand the importance of Veterans Day!

Tennessee Tolman received the Mayor's Award at the Payson City Council Meeting on  Nov. 5th. This is what was said abaout her:

Adam Rees (Geography Teacher)--In my class, Tennessee is a great student who works hard and makes sure she understands everything. I've been impressed that she cares about learning what she needs to and not just how to get her letter grade up.  She is always good at working with and helping other students.

She played soccer for Payson High School and is trying out for the basketball team. She loves sports. She saw a bullying video that helped her to realize there are others around us that need a friend and goes out of her way to be kind to others.

She enjoys being with her family and having meals together. Her favorite time is on Sundays when extended family comes and they have time to visit They often go outside and start playing basketball or football.
