The purpose of HOPE Squads is to train students in suicide awareness and to assist peers who are suffering from depression or may be suicidal. We are committed to empowering students to seek help and save a life.  Our HOPE Squad enhances the health and safety measures already in place in our school. We have HOPE Squad members in each grade, and a total of 24 students. They attended a day long training at our school this week and learned how to take an active approach in teaching/learning the warning signs of suicide, reporting potential suicide behavior, supporting students who have already received help, setting boundaries, taking care of themselves, as well as the do's and don'ts of a HOPE Squad member.

We are excited to have such a great HOPE Squad this year!  Here are the members by grade:

7th- Heidi Palomar, Sebastian Herald, Janey Jacklin, Emma Lundell, Jarrett Christensen, Chloee Bird, Danny Carrillo and Sarah Rogers.

8th- Ty Tolman, Nicole Marsh, Tory Kimber, Amanda Butler, Jacob Smith, Jaqueline Hernandez, Jeffrey Flinders and Rebecca Hazelet.

9th- Janie Coon, Charley Griffin, Rashay Horne, Gio Vargas, Tanner Pyne, Brodee Steele, Kaiden Shelley and Leah Martinez.

They are advised by Mr. Hiatt, Miss Nielson, Mr. Nelson, Mr. White and Miss Daniels.
