Last Thursday, we had over 300 of our students participate in the annual Fun Run. This is a 2K run around the field and down the road by the movie theater. This was part of the Panther Pride activites for 3rd term- "Respect for Self." This term, students also had an incentive to keep track of eating healthy and finding ways to care for themselves.

Congratulations to Debbie Jarrett, NSD Food Service Employee of the Year!

Debbie Jarrett has a smooth running kitchen.  All the ladies who work for her love her.  She is willing to do extra things for the school, such as making peanut butter bars as rewards for students.  Debbie is friendly and tries to reach out to everyone in the school to make them feel welcome. Thank you for all you do for our students at MNJHS!!

Mt. Nebo JHS Students of the Month

These are the statements written by teachers while nominating the following students:

Rebekah Rash (7th): Rebekah helps others in class. She is a hard work in Physical Education and Aerobic Conditioning, as I am sure she is in her other classes.

Sage Boswell (8th): Sage is such a kind, thoughtful person. She works hard and always does her best. What I love about Sage is that she always thanks me for the lessons at the end of every class.

Alyssa Wayne (9th): Alyssa is a really hard worker, and she is concerned about getting good grades. She is also nice to everyone.

Hunter Kindle (9th): Hunter is an outstanding young lady both academically and as a person. She works hard, has a great attitude and always has a smile on her face. She is the type of student that would help anyone with anything. I enjoy her very much.

March Madness 2014

Submitted by linda.durrant on

Dear Parents,

It seems that every week or two another study comes out confirming the importance of reading. Mount Nebo takes reading very seriously and has implemented several programs to help our students develop their reading skills. Our most recent project is selecting and placing in each classroom a set of informational books chosen especially for our reluctant readers, but also available to all students. The Nebo Foundation was very generous in helping us get started with this project, but to continue to add these kinds of books into our classrooms, we are going to need your help. Please consider sending back a donation to help our school enhance reading opportunities for all our students.

Thanks for all you do to help our school.

Sincerely,

Kaye Isakson, Principal and Linda Durrant, Library Media Specialist
